1960's-1970's Volunteer - Board Member/Chaperone

November 7, 1980

Vera Ernst was the mother of the "Ernst Girls" Wendy Paquin, Tina Louttit, Mary-Anne Kane and Monica Wardle. She raised 10 children but found the time to volunteer with the corps for 2 decades starting when Wendy joined in the 1960's. She volunteerd as a Chaperone for both St. John's and the Belles, helped cook and serve at many Corps banquets and was a member of the Board of Directors. She was always so proud of her "girls" (not only her own but the entire Corps) especially the Belles. She was an avide Drum Corps fan and attended as many Drum Corps shows as she could. When she couldn't attend Nationals she would listen for the scores on CKPC radio. She would always be waiting for the girls return no matter what the hour.
