1970's - Volunteer

April 29, 2021

It is with sadness and comfort to inform our friends that our father Jerry Hanselman passed away peacefully on Thursday evening at St Joe’s LifeCare in Brantford, Ontario.

Despite the unfortunate tragedy of Covid on so many, our mother, Nancy and I were SO fortunate to be able to say goodbye as a family and we are all at peace.

You may know our father as a family friend, a retiree of Gates Canada, a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy having served on the HMCS Haida during the Korean War, a passionate Drum Corps follower who loved St. John’s Girls (a huge part of Nancy and my life). It started with loving military bands, Preston Scout House and then he became one of the biggest fans travelling to see his favorites - Oakland Crusaders, Toronto Optimists, 27th Lancers, Madison Scouts, Muchachos, Caballeros, St. Joe’s of Batavia and Santa Clara Vanguard to name a few. It was a very special part of his life.

Sorry, we do not have photos to share at this time.
