1974-1978 Marching Member, Colour Guard

Gaynor joined the colour guard of the Belles of St. John's in 1974, rising to the position of guard captain. Gaynor was a member until 1978 and was proud to have worn the blue uniform representing the Belles as well as the green/white and white/red/black uniforms. Gaynor was very happy that the uniform included black shorts as she had the misfortune of having her skirt fall off during a competition at Seagram stadium in Kitchener. To quote Gaynor... “I remember Seagram very well with the red, black and white outfits (vest/blouses). I was marching here and (thank GOD for shorts) my skirt fell off during the competition. I remember marching on in horror, only to see a judge or some man come running towards me and wrap it back around my waist. LOL"
Gaynor continued her support of drum corps and our Alumni over the years, attending events when possible and staying connected through our Alumni page.
