1980's - Volunteer

October 12, 2024

We are thankful to have had the involvement and support in the 1980's of the Morris family. Sadly, at this time we ask you to offer condolences and keep the Morris family in your thoughts and prayers. Dorothy Morris, mother of our drum corps sisters, Beth, Lara (Bell) and Tuyet (Yurczyszyn) passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Dorothy Elaine Morris (Colwell) on Saturday October 12, 2024, surrounded by so much love from her family, friends, and the amazing staff and volunteers at the Stedman Community Hospice.

Mom faced a lot of hardships and fought a lot of battles in her life, but she never wanted to be a burden on anyone and remained fiercely independent for as long as she could be. After we lost our Dad in 2006 Mom remained the glue that held our family together and never stopped giving us unconditional love, strength, and support when we needed it, even through her own grief and sadness. She taught us how to be strong and self-sufficient, encouraged us to follow our dreams and find our own paths in life, stood by us when we had to learn from our mistakes, and celebrated our victories along the way.

Mom was a polite and well-mannered lady who continually reminded us how important it is to say “Please”, “Thank You”, and “I Love You”. She loved to dance, sing, and laugh and was known for her beautiful smile, that she shared proudly – even up to her final day.

There are not enough words to express how much we love you, how much we will miss you, and how lucky we were to have called you our Mom. May you rest forever in peace and although we ask you to “be good”, we know that you’ll “be good at it”.

Sorry, we do not have photos to share at this time.
